11 days till the end

School is starting soon, so i thought I'd better get this lovely thing up and running. (I love making and designing blogs, i think it is great fun) What a great way to break out of that summer funk. Speaking of summer I would love talk about what I have been up to this whole time.

Here is what I have been doing. I started off my summer with Sleeping Beauty the ballet. We had rehearsals every night in order to prepare this full length ballet. This was the first dance production that I have ever been apart of and I was nervous. I'm still pretty new to ballet and to do a whole three act show, it's a little intimidating. When the day of the actual show came around, I was ready. We drove to the Clark center and set up everything ourselves, did some stretching, warming up, getting ready and then it was show time. I got the amazing opportunity to be a corp dancer, a white maid, and a solo as little red riding hood. Ballet for all of its rules and limitations can only be described as freeing. It was such a glorious experience that I cant wait to be a part of again.

Next, I was a part of the Misguided shows production of Rent the musical. I was honored to get the part of Joanne a sassy, lawyer. Such a fun role, with amazing, talented people. Weston Scott, my director will be working along-side Mrs. Arthur this coming year. I am immensely excited to work with him again. The only unfortunate part of this production was the rehearsal schedule which collided with everything else I was working on. But the best part was my director of all three shows really wanted us (my friends Noah and Josh) to be a part of their productions so they worked out rehearsals and show dates just so we could be in all of them.

Lucky enough for me, the weekend after rent was the opening weekend of the Santa Maria Civic Fairytale Theater production of How I Became a Pirate. I was given the charming role of Jeremy Jacob, a ten year old boy who goes on an adventure with some very silly pirates. This was a huge leap from previous roles, so at first I was challenged to get into the part. Eventually I found my inner child (the bubble wand helped) and started to really enjoy myself. I loved the way younger audiences responded to this character and that only helped my journey. I hope to work with my director Katie Cornell, and my cast again soon!

Well, thats a wrap on my summer. Now time for senior pictures and AP reading.
